The summer bite in Orange Beach is in full swing, with anglers reeling in a variety of species just a few miles from the coast. Offshore trips are producing steady action, especially around the rigs and deeper reefs. Red snapper season is still going strong, and these prized fish are hitting hard on cut bait and live cigar minnows. King mackerel are also running in decent numbers, especially on trolled spoons and dusters along the nearshore drop-offs. For those targeting amberjack, the larger wrecks are holding some impressive fish—just bring your muscle and patience! Inshore, speckled trout and redfish are the main targets around Perdido Pass and Cotton Bayou. Early mornings are your best bet, especially with topwater lures before the heat kicks in. Flounder are showing up around sandy points and structure with live bull minnows working well. The water clarity has been favorable, and baitfish are plentiful—setting the stage for solid fishing across the board.
